To advance the academic research developments of the laboratory science and the exchange of the laboratory medicine information and knowledge, on November 2, 1985, we established Taiwan Society of Laboratory Medicine in Taipei, and now there are about 4200 members joining in. During the past years, several times elections held for the purpose of selecting new members of the Board of Councils and Controllers as voted by the members of the Association. Currently, the officers and Executive Committee Members are President-Tsu-Lan Wu, four Executive Board of Councils, sixteen Board of Councils, one Executive Board of Controller and six Board of Controllers.

The Association-sponsored “Bulletin of Association of Laboratory Medicine, ROC” was first published in 1986 for the purpose of communicating the affairs of the Association and enabling members to stay abreast of new developments in areas of laboratory medicine. In addition, an official scientific journal entitled “ Journal of Biomedical and Laboratory Sciences” was jointly published in 1989 by the Association and the Chinese Association for Clinical Biochemistry for the purpose of disseminating the novel research findings and endeavors by the members of the Association to the domestic and the international scientific communities.
